Thermal Printing

Labelon is well known as a leader in the field of labelling for the UK garment industry. The company sees thermal technology as the way forward in care labelling and recently invested in several more thermal systems.

Labelon UK's Managing Director Ashley Cooper commented; "Thermal printing is more flexible than conventional presses, with digital files being transferred directly from the client into the database, and printed on demand with no human intervention. There is less waste and no baking process, hence faster lead times for customers. All in all, it is an important addition to our traditional processes and techniques.

"In terms of quality, fabrics are being improved all the time, and with our in-line ultrasonic cutting process, the finished labels compete easily with conventional alternatives.

"We are seeing dramatic shifts in customer expectations, in terms of run length, turnaround and costs, and thermal systems perform on all levels. Our production facilities have recently gone through a major reorganisation to accommodate the new machinery, which is critical for our future development."
